The Omo Sanda festival in Ipapo, symbolizes the commencement
of the new yam festival calendar before Eleyinpo will start to
eat yam in the year. It is discourage for an Eleyinpo to eat
yam in any year without performing the yam festival. On every
year the date of the festival must be transmitted to Alaafin of Oyo because since time memorial His Royal majesty, the Alaafin Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III Alaafin
will be the one that will provide the ritual ram for Eleyinpo
with six representative that must spend seven days in Ipapo
before returning to Oyo. It is still practice till today, 21st
century in Ipapo.
The 15th Eleyinpo of ipapo, Oba Abdul yekeen Ademola Abioye II welcomes His Royal majesty, the Alaafin Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, to Oke-amu for the beaded crown ceremony of Olugunwa of Oke-amu on 26th June,2021.
The current Eleyinpo of Ipapo,his highness Oba abdul- yekeen Abioye II is maternally related to Oke-amu.
The 7th Eleyinpo of Ipapo, Oba Fatumo settled Oke-amu separately on a landspace where they are till today.

The Nigeria Police Force commences operation in Ipapo in 1983 during the
reign of Oba Eleyinpo Amusat Abioye I. The first officer to manned
the station was an Ijesha sergeant a.k.a baba ofero(Baba no like lie).
The New Police Station Structure was built with community efforts
anchored by Ipapo Descendant Union (IDU) under the leadership of Alh
Jimoh Opoola Adebayo (November 2020)

OUR PARTICIPATION AT THE ITESIWAJU LOCAL GOVERNMENT,OTU
Prior to the Creation of Itesiwaju Local Government,Ipapo was ward 12 under the Iseyin Local Government council that contained ipapo and oke-amu as a single voting Ward.The last representative that we had at counsellor level were All Abdul Azeez Ako from NRC while Alh Ogunleti was from Social Democratic Party (SDP) in 1995-1997.
They were in office when the Itesieaju Local Government was created
The Itesiwaju Local Government was carved out of Old Iseyin Local
Government in 1996 by the military regime of Late General Sanni Abacha.
The first Sole administrator to chaired the council was our father,
elder J.O Ogunyale from Arero compound of Ipapo (December 1996- March
1997). The Local Government Area comprises of seven towns, namely:
Ipapo, Oke+amu, Okaka, Otu, Komu, Gbojaiye, and Bab-ode Mr Aikiola
Tijani was elected as the Vice-chairman of the council between
(2003-2006). Mr Azeez Idowu Olaniyi was elected as the Chairman to head
the administration of the council between (2007-2010). Ipapo has two
electoral wards which are ward 3 and watd 10. The current
representatives of the town at the council level are Hon.Salau Nurudeen
Olaniyi representing ward 3 while Hon. Ojo Taiwo Adesola represent ward
